After 12 years away, I had an amazing trip to Nashville, Tennessee, my ‘old hometown’ in the USA. I enjoyed reconnecting with many old friends and making some new ones. I stayed with my dearest friends, spent a lot of time at the Nashville Zoo, attended my very first high school graduation ceremony, and went to many graduation parties.
Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible. I will publish a detailed trip report on my blog in a few days, and I will be back at work at Thanda on 24 May.
I hope to be back soon — hopefully in less than another 12 years 😊

I am glad that the audience enjoyed my talk last night at Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, Tennessee, USA. The collage shows the packed lecture room and a few of the animal pictures I took during this stay in Nashville. After almost two weeks, I will return to South Africa next week. I had a great time being back in the USA after leaving fourteen years ago.

After 12 years away, very good friends of mine have brought me back to Nashville, Tennessee, USA, as a surprise guest for the graduation of five of their youngsters. I was not allowed to say anything until yesterday’s pre-graduation party, which was fantastic.
That means I can now post again as usual 😊.
And for all my friends in Nashville: I am giving a talk about my 14 YEARS LIVING ON A GAME RESERVE on Thursday, 14 May, at 12 pm at the HCA Healthcare Veterinary Center at the Nashville Zoo. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
More pictures from my travel will follow soon …

Hello my friends and followers,
From today, I will be taking two weeks off from the internet, and social media. I will be back with my regular posts soon.
