STAY-AT-HOME MONDAY

Very colorful, very slow moving and very fast catching prey = Panther Chameleon, my favorite reptile 😊. This is especially for all my friends in Switzerland. The picture was taken at Masoala Hall at the Zurich Zoo.

Many of us have to stay home in this world wide crisis. So I thought you might enjoy to receive a wildlife image every day of the week until things are back to normal.

There are 19 species of formally described Chameleons within South Africa, 17 species of Dwarf Chameleons and 2 Typical (Large) Chameleons.

The specimen in this picture is a Flap Necked Chameleon, a large chameleon, reaching 35 cm (14 in) with colors ranging through various shades of green, yellow, and brown.

Large and Small

This morning we had two visitors in the camp. A breeding herd of Elephant and a Chameleon.

The herd walked around the camp and then they took dust baths on the road nearby.

The Flap-necked Chameleon spent its time sunning next to the road.

Enjoy the pictures!
