I spent the last four days in the Sabi Sands game reserve (Elephant Plains Game Lodge). These are some of the pictures I took during this time. Enjoy the show!
I spent the last few days in St. Lucia with guests from the USA. These are a few the pictures I took on game drives in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park – on both sides of the estuary – and on two boat cruises on Lake St. Lucia.
We stayed at my favorite place in town, the Serene Estate Boutique Guest House.
… I went on an excursion to Umfolozi National Park. This very scenic game reserve is the modern birth place of White Rhinos.
The park was the only place where these large creatures were left by the mid-20th century. From here, White Rhinos were relocated all over South Africa after they had been declared a protected species.
All pictures in this slideshow were taken by me today!
…refers to mature, solitary male African buffalo who are known for their frequent mud wallowing habits. The term is thought to be derived from the Shona word “dugga,” which translates to mud.
These bulls are frequently ill-tempered and may pose a threat, particularly if agitated. They are a familiar sight on Thanda, often seen near waterholes or mud puddles.

Why Easter Bunny? The “Osterhase” (Easter Hare) or “Oschter Haws” is a German tradition of an egg-laying hare who would leave colored eggs for well-behaved children. This picture shows a South African Scrub Hare.
Pictures from the last 14 days taken at Thanda and iSimangaliso Wetland Park. My last few weeks were very busy, but they were also very productive for wildlife photography!
