It never gets old. I can watch these African sunsets over and over again.
Good night 💤

South Africa is also called the Rainbow 🌈 Nation because of all the different peoples and their cultures represented in a single country.
As I live in Zululand for over eight years I have been lucky enough to experience and photograph some of the traditions of the Zulu people. Here is a collage to celebrate South Africa’s Heritage Day 2020.
These pictures were taken at traditional weddings, other special occasions in the communities and at Thanda Safari, where Zulus from the neighboring communities perform some of their traditional music and dance for our guests.
Happy Heritage Day!
PS: The gentleman smiling on the bottom left is my friend and tracker Bheki Ngubane.

What bird is this? – I will post the result tomorrow 😊🐦

What beautiful warts! 😊
PS: The answer to yesterday’s question was 265 Buffalo in the herd.

Yesterday this large herd of Cape Buffalo crossed the Thanda Safari savanna. We used this aerial shot to count them. Can you guess the correct number?
PS: It is a quite tricky question because it is often difficult to make out the calves in the mother’s shade …

Imagine you scan with your binoculars along a mountain ridge. And this is what looks at you …
It made my day 😊

The Thanda Safari Jerusalema Dance Challenge video has been posted on all Social Media platforms. This is a link to the video. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun to put this together. Enjoy the show.
THANDA SAFARI JERUSALEMA CHALLENGE
We responded to this challenge to spread the positive and energetic vibe and spirit of our incredible staff, 90% of whom are Zulu and who come from neighbouring communities and KwaZulu-Natal.
We wish to remind the world that in spite of the tragic global COVID-19 Pandemic crisis and turmoil that has gripped humankind and sadly caused the loss of life of family and friends as well as livelihoods, nature has remained oblivious and unaffected, as it has always been for eternity.
This video is dedicated to celebrating nature and all of the conservation efforts of our remarkable industry, that at a time of madness, suffering and pain, that we can always escape and experience nature that rejuvenates the mind and nourishes the soul.
SIYA THANDA WENA!

Many of you might have heard of the worldwide YouTube dance challenge using the Jerusalema song produced by Master KG featuring Nomcebo Zikode.
The Thanda Safari staff took up the challenge to create some special dance videos expressing their support for the conservation message in this song.
I produced the videos. Director, Videographer, Editor and Producer – all in one 😊
Stay tuned for a week of music, dance and the Thanda spirit…
