A good morning drive on Ithala. I encountered …
… a new species (for me :-)): An antelope named Tsessebe, which I have never seen before.
… two Secretary birds with their funny walk across a burned area.
… a Tawny Eagle who was harassed by a Black-shouldered Kite.
… a well light scene at sunrise with Zebra and Wildebeest.
… and an exciting drive on a very rocky 4×4 trail.
Let’s see what the afternoon will bring!
So exciting, Christian! Are you out on your own for these drives, or do you have a companion? Also, is there radio/communication service where you are? These locations look like such an adventure!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I am alone on these photography trips. Anyone but a serious photographer would get very bored with me sitting around in one spot for a long time. In some of the areas I have phone reception, in some I do not. That is part of the adventure 🙂
Beautiful sights and wonderful shots! The rocky trail brought back my adventures in the wild…have driven on many of these trails and now feel like “home sick”…
Thanks for your comment – I really enjoyed Ithala. I will be back.
Some amazing photos lovely sunrise one.
Sent via my BlackBerry from Vodacom – let your email find you!
Thanks for your comment Margaret – I hope to see you at Thanda again, soon.
Tsessebe are really, really hard to photograph this close up because they are so shy and elusive. Impressive photos, thank you.
Thanks for your comment Jet, they are quite nervous creatures, but I stood still for a long time and they got used to the vehicle and came close at last.
