My tracker Bheki is watching James finishing the net setup for tomorrow’s ‘bird ringing’ at Thanda Safari. All of our guests will enjoy seeing the birds close up and release them back into the wild after the birds been ringed (with information for research projects at Captetown University). From time to time a game drive can have a difficult start if one of Thanda’s Elephant villa decides to have a snack in the driveway to the Lodge. But our guests enjoyed observing this gentle giant for a quite a while.

I took this picture when the Giraffe mum was in a hurry to get to the waterhole and the little one was trying to get a drink at the same time.
And the mother was chewing a bone from a carcass to replenish minerals in her body while she was striding towards the water.
