When I picked up a stone which was resting against a tree in the Thanda House garden I interrupted this Scorpion having his Grasshopper-meal. It was fascinating to watch him trying to find a new hiding place to finish his dinner in peace and quiet.
I took this picture with iPhone which works very well for these type of macro shots.
This is an aerial picture of the beautiful green Thanda Safari savanna. I took this picture this afternoon after we had heavy rain for the last few days.
I am participating in a another birding weekend at Pakamisa. If you are a keen birder and/or interested in photography then this is a great opportunity for an exciting weekend. Going on birding walks and drives with Ian is great fun! And I will be available to answer any wildlife photography related questions, not just about birds:-).
Just contact Isabella at res@pakamisa.co.za if you are interested.
We had over 100mm of rain in the last three days at Thanda Safari. Some of our large mammals – like this Zebra – looked like they felt a bit sorry for themselves walking around with muddy hooves on slippery grounds. So far we had more than 400mm since the beginning of the year.
