THE EVENING POST – LARGE TUSKS AND A SMALL TRUNK

One of Thanda Safari’s breeding herd of Elephants had a morning drink at the Safari Lodge. This is a short video of the smallest calf with its tiny trunk and the largest bull with his impressive tusks.

Enjoy your evening 😊

THE EVENING POST – ALMOST LIVE

I was quickly checking one of our waterholes just before sunset and I was taking a video of a Giraffe drinking when I heard very soft steps behind my vehicle.

As I turned around a breeding herd of Elephants rushed past me and reached the water as the sun had disappeared under the horizon. This is a short video of the Ellies taken a few minutes ago.

Enjoy your evening 😊

THE MORNING POST – ACROSS THE VALLEY II

Another picture of an animal across a valley. This is one of my favorite scenery with Elephant shots. I love the colors.

Have a good weekend!

THE EVENING POST – STEADY

It is amazing what quality pictures and videos modern smart phones can produce. I often use a holding frame on a clamp mount on my vehicle to get steady videos. I love this little video ‘Elephant and Goose’ which I recorded this weekend.

Good night 😊

THE EVENING POST – WITH GUESTS AGAIN

After three month of lockdown Thanda Safari Tracker Siboniso and I took four guests on game drive this afternoon! And what a drive it was. It started with a crash of Rhino, an Elephant drinking at sunset, a Spider catching a Grasshopper and ended with a brief sighting of a male Leopard.

We had a great time even if I had to talk to my guests through a face mask. 😷 It is great to be back on the job!

THE EVENING POST – A LOVELY ERROR

If you think this effect was accomplished by using photo editing software then you are wrong. When I took this shot I faced the sun above the Elephant which created the rainbow 🌈 effect through my lens. I thought I share this lovely ‘bad picture’ anyway.

Have a good evening!

THE MORNING POST – TREE ICE CREAM

Elephants love to eat the inside layer of the bark of trees. This is the ‘transport system’ which trees use to move nutrients and water from the roots to the branches and leaves. Judging by the gusto Ellies enjoy the phloem (transport layer) it must be as desirable to Elephants as ice cream is to me 😊

Have a good Sunday!

THE MORNING POST – ELEPHANT PARADE

This is my favorite Thanda Safari Elephant video clip which I took a while ago. I am not sure if I ever shared it with you. Well, here it is (maybe again 😊).

This is a short video clip of two little Elephants during playtime at the Thanda House Dam.

Have a good day 😊
